LE SON, LA LUMIÈRE ET LE PHÈNOMÈNES OPTIQUES DE L`AIR
The site-specific installation LE SON, LA LUMIÈRE ET LE PHÉNOMÈNES OPTIQUES DE L`AIR was designed for the Aegidien-Kirchhof / Braunschweigisches Landesmuseum. The four sound objects of mirrored acrylic glass with the respective dimensions of 200 cm x 80 cm, are placed on the lawns of the former monastery courtyard. The objects are anchored to the ground at two ends each and form an arch by the resulting tension.
On the underside of the sound arcs, two electro-magnetic transducers are attached to each object, with whose help the reflecting surface becomes a sound-emitting membrane.
The 8-channel composition picks out as a central theme the internet phenomenon ASMR (Asynchronous Sensory Meridian Response) and transforms whisper sounds and soft noises into space-grabbing sound textures that mix with the acoustic character of the place.
