“x40-20-20-40y” is an audio-visual Performance for four musicians.
The sounds of the two classical musicians (piano and clarinet) are visualized through a stereo display oscilloscope using analogue technology. The XY-correlation of both instruments is projected on the central screen. The two outside projections are fed computer-generated sounds with a visual focus by the other two musicians. These players are giving improvised, audio-visual guidelines for the performance. It becomes a synergetic improvisation between visual compositions and acoustic improvisations.
