3-Angle
“3-angle” is a sound performance that uses musical improvisation to produce three different experiences of piano sound. In the performance three different ways of generating piano sound are presented. The first sound generator is controlled by a device that transforms movements of the tongue in MIDI signals to control a MIDI-controllable grand piano. The second sound system is a synthetic piano sound generator controlled by light and shadow. The third sound “generator” is a professional pianist playing a real grand piano.
Thus there are three levels of agitation among the performers: a (nearly) motionless, a wavelike non-contact and an ecstatic manual expression.
